Expressive Arts Therapy Alumni Spotlight: Nadia Womack

Expressive Arts Therapy Alumni Spotlight: Nadia Womack

Our Alumni often relocate all over the world after graduation.  We always hope that they will stay in touch and come back to campus.  Recently, Nadia Womack, Expressive Arts Therapy specialization grad, now residing in Baltimore, MD, came back to Lesley University to present a workshop on the use of sandtray in therapy, at the conference:

"Being Culturally Responsive in Urban Settings:

A Conference for Mental Health Providers, Educators, and ALL Working with Culturally Diverse Families"
The conference was sponsored through a partnership of the Boston Children’s Hosptial Neighborhood Partnerships Program, the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, and VISIONS, Inc., sponsored by the Josephine & Louise Crane Foundation and hosted by the Episcopal Divinity School and brought together folks from around the region particularly interested in culturally responsive work.

We were so proud of Nadia, and so glad to know that her education was allowing her to continue the practice of Expressive Arts Therapy in culturally responsive ways.  Check out her workshop description:

What’s in the sand: Sand tray use, research, experiential– Nadia Womack, MA
Come experience this powerful alternative therapeutic practice in which miniature images and sand become the field of conscious expression for the psyche as you create patterns, worlds, and/or dramatic play processes in the sand tray. Sand play has been shown to enhance self-expression, self-healing and spiritual development and can be used in your clinical practice with children and adults.
