The Masters students presented their research in the Expressive Therapy division's Annual Research Poster Session on May 5, 2006. Visiting the poster session were graduate students, faculty and alum. in addition, we had an art exhibit by graduate student Natalie Blue, entitled "The Artist Within" Please see the 2006 Thesis Research page for more titles, and links to the abstracts!

April 21-28 was DANCE THERAPY WEEK IN MASSACHUSETTS! Lesley Dance therapy faculty and students celebrated DANCE THERAPY WEEK with the community on the Cambridge Commons on Saturday April 22, 2006. This event took place the day before the one day New England Dance Therapy Association's spring conference entitled, "Transforming Lives Through Dance/Movement Therapy."

Seasons: An Exploration of Life Cycles

Sunday evening the students of the PhD program in Expressive Therapies will also sponsor "Seasons: An Exploration of Life Cycles" - a performance and gallery show of the creative works of first-year Expressive Therapies doctoral students. The gallery show and performance will follow the PhD student research conference on Sunday, April 30th. The gallery opening will be at Marran Gallery at 5pm, and the performance will be at 6pm at the Marran Theater. Igniting the Synapses Seasons: An Exploration of Life Cycles Gallery Opening As the scientist uses a microscope to study the cells of a leaf, or a astronaut uses a ship to view the whole of planet earth, so did these art-based researchers use color, light, mood, tone, self-reflection and time to explore their subjects. Igniting the Synapses conference

This past weekend, Lesley sponsored a successful conference of the New England chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association . We'd love to hear from you. Did you go to the conference? Tell us about it... This coming Sunday, the PhD Expressive Therapy program is sponsoring a one day conference called "Igniting the Synapses: Stimulating the Lesley Community." The conference will take place on our Main Campus from 1-8 pm. Creating a forum for discussion

For some time I've been discussing the possibility of creating a blog for expressive therapy on my website with one of our alum, Eve Lyons. Well, there's nothing like a pressing project (how will I motivate myself when my dissertation is done?!) to get you moving! My hope is that this can be a way to make expressive therapy even more of a living process for those of us who are interested in learning more about it. So, here we go!
