Lesley faculty in Guatemala at the first Latin American Symposium for Expressive Arts Therapy

February 27-28 and March 1st 2014
Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala

We are so excited to have two of our own Expressive Arts Therapy Faculty, Mitchell Kossak and Angelica Pinna Perez, presenting at the 1st Latin American Regional Symposium of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association

The conference, Weaving The Americas/Tejiendo las Americas, brings together Expressive Arts Therapists from across Latin America.

Their workshop entitled, Drumming up the primordial somatic unconscious, is listed with the following description:

Art, in all its forms, makes manifest the unconscious embodied energies. The arts grant the soul an avenue for expression and an opening to self-awareness.  By playing with prmordial energies, expressive arts attempt to create a deeper resonance with universal truths.  Under the right conditions, the creative process will lead to new kinds of knowledge, insights, and a deepening connection with life.  This workshop will take participants through an experience of the emerging primordial energies that give shape and form to the primordial somatic unconscious explored in a multimodal arts experience of drumming, authentic movement, poetry and image making.

Congratulations Mitchell and Angelica!
